My name is Rina Patel. I am a Medical Technologist professional, working in the field for about four and a half years. I have recently graduated Rutgers School of Health Professions with a degree in Health Informatics and I am looking forward to working in a career with clinical data.
I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the Rutgers School of Health Professions, summa cum laude, in Medical Laboratory Science, which propelled me into my career as a Medical Technologist. I had also received an American Society of Clinical Pathology certificate for a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
From there, I have been working with as a Medical Technologist for four and a half years, getting promoted to a mid-senior level technologist within 2 and half years. I have demonstrated leadership skills in the laboratory, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
As a Microbiologist, I have operated laboratory instruments to identify and test microorganisms, including Biomerieux Vitek-2, MALDI-TOF, Copan's WASPLAB, and Beckman Coulter's Microscan Walkaway Plus System.
From there, I decided to move forward with a Master's Degree in Health Informatics, and I am now graduating summa cum laude in this degree as well.
I have successfully created projects using the following tools:
I have taken courses in Healthcare Database Management, Biostatistics, Clinical Decision Support Systems, Clinical Trial Data Management, and more.
I am currently working on getting the beginner certificate in Python and have the ability to grasp and understand coding concepts quickly and efficiently for healthcare purposes. Working in the laboratory has also given me time to familiarize myself with LIS Systems, which I feel confident to be working with as well.
